Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated BJP offices in Coimbatore, Tiruvannamalai, and Ramanathapuram on Wednesday. Following the inauguration, he addressed a rally in Coimbatore, where he launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu. Amit Shah stated that all DMK leaders hold a “master’s degree” in corruption. He also assured that the parliamentary representation of the southern states would not be reduced in the upcoming Lok Sabha delimitation process. Let’s take a closer look at his statements.

No Reduction in Parliamentary Representation – Amit Shah

While addressing the rally in Coimbatore, Home Minister Amit Shah clarified the concerns regarding the Lok Sabha delimitation process. He assured that there would be no reduction in parliamentary representation for any southern state, including Tamil Nadu. Shah emphasized that the Modi government had made it clear in the Lok Sabha that no southern state would lose even a single seat after delimitation.

His remarks were made in response to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s claims that the southern states were at risk of losing their parliamentary seats in the Lok Sabha. Dismissing these concerns as baseless, Amit Shah stated that the Narendra Modi-led government had allocated ₹5,08,337 crore to Tamil Nadu. Additionally, he criticized the DMK government for its poor law and order management, mentioning that security was provided for the funeral of a mastermind behind a bomb blast.

Rising Anti-National Activities in Tamil Nadu – Amit Shah

Shah further alleged that anti-national activities in Tamil Nadu had reached their peak. He accused the ruling DMK government of allowing the drug mafia to operate freely in the state, thereby enabling drug trafficking. According to Shah, the illegal mining mafia was also corrupting Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.

Continuing his attack on DMK, Amit Shah remarked that all its leaders held a “master’s degree” in corruption. He also criticized the DMK-led state government’s handling of law and order, particularly highlighting the security arrangements made for the funeral of a bomb blast mastermind.

NDA Will Form the Government in 2026 – Amit Shah

Amit Shah expressed confidence that the people of Tamil Nadu were dissatisfied with the DMK government on multiple fronts. He predicted that the NDA would form the next government in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He further asserted that the NDA’s victory in Tamil Nadu would be even bigger than the BJP’s past electoral successes in Maharashtra and Haryana.

Tamil Nadu is set to hold its next Assembly elections in 2026, and the BJP is making efforts to expand its footprint in the southern state. Shah’s remarks signal the party’s strategic focus on Tamil Nadu as it prepares for the upcoming elections.
